Principal’s Message:

Congratulations Ms. Barker!

I will always remember the first day I walked into the Greenspun office after my appointment as the new principal 14 years ago. There stood this small, but mighty woman, who congratulated and welcomed me with a huge hug and the assurance that she would make sure that I had whatever I needed to succeed as an effective leader in our school community.

From that day forward, Ms. Nakia Barker and I formed a partnership and a bond that only strengthened throughout the years. As an assistant principal at Greenspun, Ms. Barker evolved into a strong, committed leader, whose advocacy for creating opportunities for student success has been limitless.

And now, it is my turn to congratulate Ms. Barker. On behalf of Greenspun Junior High, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on her promotion as the principal of West Preparatory Academy at Charles I. West Hall, effective Feb. 3, 2025.

I, along with many others, will deeply miss Ms. Barker’s presence on our campus, but I am so happy for her and excited to watch her take this well-deserved next step in her career. West Prep is blessed to have such a talented, inspirational, and uplifting leader who will dedicate herself to ensuring a productive, safe, and positive learning environment for her new school community.

Congratulations again, Ms. Barker, on your accomplishment. On behalf of your Greenspun community, we are so proud of you and wish you the best in your new principal role.
