Principal’s Message

Jackie Carducci GJHS Principal

A Joyful Song

Amidst a hectic week of never-ending administrative deadlines and responsibilities, I was reminded why I love my job by our amazingly, talented Greenspun Performing Arts students.

I am a believer that music is good for the soul and makes us feel better. Whenever I am stressed by the demands of my job, all I have to do is walk into one of our Performing Arts rooms and listen to our students make beautiful music. It works every time as I leave the room with a joyful song in my heart.

Today, I am filled with pride, and my joy is overflowing after attending our annual Fine Arts Concert. As the art department, band, choir, orchestra, and color guard came together to present a showcase of their outstanding talent, my only thought was, “These kids are second to none! I am honored and blessed to be their principal!”

This message is dedicated to all of the Performing Art students, their parents, and their teachers.

Students, thank you for your dedication and strong work ethic as you spend endless hours preparing for your wonderful performances.

Parents, thank you for your support and the endless hours you spend making sure your children are prepared with the “behind-the-scenes” necessities.

Music teachers, thank you for another joyful song in my heart.. Without you and your assistants, our Performing Arts Program would not be top-notch, and there would be no Fine Arts Week.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO THE GREENSPUN MUSIC TEACHERS AND THEIR ASSISTANTS FOR MAKING OUR SCHOOL A BETTER PLACE TO BE:

David Martinez, Band, assisted by Jordan Miller; Heather Houchens, Choir, assisted by Kelly Ray; Sheila Davis, Orchestra, assisted by Michael Spicer; Justin Lepper, Art; and Sadie Floyd and Brittany Whitlow, Color Guard.

Events & Honors:

SBAC testing:

Robotics: Last week, three of our robotics students heading to the World Championship joined Ms. Juliano in representing Greenspun at the Henderson Chamber of Commerce-HDA (Henderson Development Association) Mixer. This event took place at All in Aviation at the Henderson Executive Airport and was attended by Henderson community business leaders. As their "adopted" robotics program, they are working to raise money for our program through their "Biz and Bots" fundraiser. We feel honored to be highlighted in this way by our community leaders and thank them for their enthusiastic support. Cole Myers, Jesse Sundstrom, and Zachary Bellante represented Greenspun Robotics, and their knowledge and professionalism wowed those in attendance. We are grateful for the Henderson Chamber and look forward to proudly wearing their logo at the Vex World Championships this April in Dallas.

Color Guard: Please come out and support the team at our Championships on Saturday April 1st at Foothill HS. The guard will perform at 11:14 am. Hope to see you there!
